Leslie Sims is an engineer and founding principal of ARENCON Inc. with extensive experience as a building code and fire safety consultant.
Her project portfolio includes code consulting, alternative solutions, fire safety assessments, fire hazard analysis, independent reviews, fire suppression system design and legal support. She has a proven track record in the development of innovative approaches to fire and life safety issues.
Leslie’s educational credentials include an Engineering Sciences Degree (Mechanical) from the University of Western Ontario and a Diploma of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. She completed the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Building Code Qualifications in the areas of Complex Buildings and Building Services in 2005.
Leslie is a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario, as well as several other provinces. She is also a member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers.

Leslie served as the Vice Chair of the Ontario Building Code Commission from 2006 to 2016. The Building Code Commission (BCC) is an adjudicative tribunal with a mandate is to resolve disputes concerning the compliance with the technical requirements of the Building Code.
